Session Two
Intergenerational Icebreaker:
A Few of My Favorite Things

Please pick an engaging older and younger woman from two different generations who have some relationship: Mother/Daughter, Children’s Ministry Leader/Student, Youth Ministry Leader/Student, Grandmother/Granddaughter, Spiritual Mother/ Spiritual Daughter.
Give them this list beforehand but tell them not to share their answers with the other person.
Ask them to arrive at church at 6:30 pm on Friday night to write their answers.
Have them sit on the front row so they can quickly hop up on stage.
Provide a large spiral sketch book or medium card stock pieces for them to write their answers in this order.
Have someone emcee this part and prompt each question. Then, they will flip in order older/younger and announce.
It would be great if they could use two microphones on stands to announce their answers in an older/younger popcorn fashion.
The idea is to show that we are more alike than different…and where we are different, that makes living life together more fun. We also want to give churches a quick show-and-tell icebreaker they can take back to their churches.
