What Resources Are Available?

The PCA has been developing resources for Women’s Ministry for over 25 years, so there is no need to completely reinvent the wheel. PWM Leaders should be able to find many of the right wheels needed to move a particular ministry down the road within the materials that are already developed. A few books that are directed to Women’s Ministry leaders include: Leadership for Women in the Church (Hunt & Hutcheson), Women’s Ministry in the Local Church (Duncan & Hunt), and Life Giving Leadership (Hodge & Hunt). Choosing one of these books to read through and discuss with your a leadership team is one way to help clarify mission and vision.

Many more resources have been collected on the CDM Women’s Ministry Resource webpage found here. These include:

  • Presbytery Women’s Ministry is listed on the general resource page under “Leadership Training.” Leaders will find a rationale for PWM, some action steps for getting started, sample purpose statements, structure options, and job descriptions that can be a starting place for a developing ministry.
  • The Events tab will list upcoming events and details for regional conferences, WM Trainings, W4 conferences, and the annual Women’s Ministry Leadership Training Conference (often called LT) held in Atlanta, usually in February. LT, especially, is an incredible opportunity for connecting with other women leaders from around the country, for renewing focus, and for education on many helpful topics. It is well worth the cost, and a great investment in ministry.
  • CDM Women’s Ministry National Team includes a Regional Advisor (RA) for every region of the country. The RA can be a helpful resource as leaders seek to minister to women in specific presbyteries. The RA should be able to connect leaders with people and resources to support local and Presbytery Women’s Ministry, including connection to the At Large Advisors and Trainers.
  • At Large Advisors are available to assist with advice and resources that encourage awareness of cultural, economic and ethnic distinctions related to the demographics of different areas being served.
  • A Women’s Ministry Trainer can be brought in to present Women’s Ministry training developed by CDM. They are skilled in giving women foundational principles that will help leaders to think biblically and live covenantally in all aspects of Women’s Ministry. More information about scheduling a WM Training can be found on the website.
